About Hitomi Sato

I started playing piano in Japan when I was five, and between the ages eight and fifteen I studied at the Toho Gakuen Colledge of Drama and Music, one of Japan's most prestigous music schools.

After moving to Canada I resumed my piano studies in 2012, and studying on my own without a teacher I passed my Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 10 exam with First-Class Honours. I then studied with highly respected Calgary teacher Allen Reiser and passed my RCM ARCT Performance Exam in January 2018, and my RCM Licentiate Diploma (LRCM) in 2022, both with First-Class Honours. The Associate Diploma (ARCT) and the Licentiate Diploma (LRCM) are the highest academic standings awarded by The RCM Certificate Program.

I've been teaching piano in Calgary since 2014 and have my RCM Teaching Elementary Piano Certificate and RCM Teaching Intermediate Piano Certificate.
